அமேசான் கடந்த ஆண்டு தொடக்கத்தில் இந்தியாவில் அறிமுகப்படுத்திய ஆன்லைன் கற்றல் தளமான 'அமேசான் அகாதெமி'யை மூடுவதாக அறிவித்துள்ளது.

  கரோனா காலத்தில் ஆன்லைன் கற்றல் மூலமாக பல்வேறு கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் வளர்ச்சியடைந்த நிலையில் அமேசானும் 'அமேசான் அகாதெமி' என்ற புதிய கற்றல் தளத்தைத் தொடங்கியது. முன்னதாக இந்த கற்றல் நிறுவனம் 'ஜேஇஇ ரெடி' என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது.

 உயர்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான போட்டித்தேர்வு, குறிப்பாக பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகளில் சேருவதற்கான நுழைவுத் தேர்வு(JEE)க்கு பயிற்சியை வழங்கி வந்தது. இந்நிலையில்தான் 'அமேசான் அகாதெமி'யை மூடுவதாக அந்த நிறுவனம் அறிவித்துள்ளது. அமேசான் செய்தித் தொடர்பாளர் இதுகுறித்து கூறுகையில், 'வாடிக்கையாளர்களை மகிழ்விப்பதற்காக அமேசான் தொடர்ந்து செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு தரமான சேவையை வழங்குவதற்காக அவ்வப்போது மதிப்பீடு செய்து வருகிறது. 

தயாரிப்புகள், சேவைகளின் முன்னேற்றம் மற்றும் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில், மதிப்பீட்டின் அடிப்படையில் அமேசான் அகாதெமியை நிறுத்த முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம்' என்று கூறினார். அமேசான் கடந்த ஆண்டு பேட்ச் மாணவர்களுக்கு ஆன்லைனில் பயிற்சி அளித்து வருகிறது. 

அடுத்த ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் முதல் படிப்படியாக இந்த சேவையை குறைக்க நிறுவனம் முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. 'இந்த முடிவால் யாருக்கும் எந்த பாதிப்பும் ஏற்படாது. தற்போது பயிற்சியில் உள்ள மாணவர்கள் 2024 அக்டோபர் வரை பயிற்சியைப் பெற முடியும். இந்தாண்டு தொகுப்பில்(பேட்ச்) சேர்ந்துள்ளவர்கள் தங்கள் முழுக்கட்டணத்தையும் திரும்பப் பெற முடியும்' என்றும் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

 இந்தியாவில் பொருளாதார சூழ்நிலையை சீர்செய்யும் பொருட்டு மெட்டா, ட்விட்டர், கூகுள் உள்ளிட்ட நிறுவனங்கள், பைஜுஸ் உள்ளிட்ட கல்வி நிறுவனங்களும் ஆட்குறைப்பு நடவடிக்கையில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள நிலையில் அமேசான் இந்த முடிவை எடுத்துள்ளது. பைஜுஸ்(Byjus) சமீபத்தில் 2,500 ஊழியர்களை பணி நீக்கம் செய்வதாக அறிவித்தது. அன்அகாடமி(UnAcademy)யும் அதன் பணியாளர்களில் 10%, அதாவது சுமார் 350 ஊழியர்களை பணிநீக்கம் செய்வதாகக் கூறியது. 

எட்டெக்(Edtech) தளம் சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு நடைமுறையில் பல ஊழியர்களை பணிநீக்கம் செய்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

Amazon has announced the closure of its online learning platform 'Amazon Academy', which it launched in India earlier last year.

  While various educational institutions have developed through online learning during the Corona period, Amazon has also launched a new learning platform called 'Amazon Academy'. Earlier this learning institute was called 'JEE Ready'.

 It was providing coaching for high school students for competitive examinations, especially the Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission to engineering colleges. In this case, the company has announced that it will close the 'Amazon Academy'. An Amazon spokesperson said, 'Amazon is constantly working to make customers happy. Periodic evaluation is done to provide quality service to the customers.

"We have decided to discontinue Amazon Academy based on evaluation, in order to improve our products, services and improve efficiency," he said. Amazon has been providing online training to last year batch students.

The company has decided to phase out this service from August next year. "This decision will not harm anyone. Students currently undergoing training can undergo training till October 2024. Those who have joined this year's batch will be able to get their full fee back.

 In order to improve the economic situation in India, Amazon has taken this decision while companies including Meta, Twitter, Google and educational institutions including Byjus are also engaged in layoffs. Byjus recently announced layoffs of 2,500 employees. UnAcademy also said it would lay off 10% of its workforce, about 350 employees.

It is noteworthy that the Edtech site had practically laid off several employees a few months back.
