தொலைதூரக் கல்வியில் படித்தவர்கள் ஆசிரியர் பணிக்குத் தகுதியானவர்கள் அல்ல என்று சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் கூறியுள்ளது. திருவாரூர் மாவட்டம் நன்னிலம் அரசுப்பள்ளி இடைநிலை ஆசிரியை நித்யா, பதவி உயர்வு வழங்கக்கோரி சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்குத் தொடர்ந்தார். இந்த வழக்கு நீதிபதிகள் எஸ்.எம். சுப்பிரமணியன் அமர்வு முன்பாக இன்று விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது. 

 அப்போது, தமிழக அரசு தரப்பு வழக்கறிஞர், 'ஆசிரியை நித்யா, பி.எட். தமிழில் படித்துப் பின்னர், பி.ஏ. ஆங்கிலம் படித்தாலும், மேலும், பி.ஏ. படிப்பை தொலைதூரக் கல்வியில் படித்ததாலும் அவருக்கு ஆங்கில ஆசிரியை பிரிவில் பதவி உயர்வு வழங்க முடியாது' என்று குறிப்பிட்டார். இதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட நீதிபதிகள், ஆசிரியை நித்யா தமிழ் ஆசிரியை பிரிவில் பதவி உயர்வுக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம் என்று கூறியதுடன், கல்வி நிறுவனங்களுக்கு நேரில் சென்று படித்தவர்கள்தான் ஆசிரியர்களாக நியமிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று நீதிமன்றம் தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தி வருவதாகக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

 தொலைதூரக் கல்வியில் படித்தவர்கள் ஆசிரியர் பணிக்கு தகுதியானவர்கள் அல்ல என்று குறிப்பிட்ட நீதிபதி, இட ஒதுக்கீட்டின் கீழ் நியமித்தாலும் ஆசிரியர் பணிக்கு தகுதியானவர்கள் நியமிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்றும் தற்போது தொலைதூரக் கல்வியில் படித்தவர்கள் ஆசிரியர் பணியில் இருப்பது வேதனைக்குரியது என்றும் கூறினார். அதுமட்டுமின்றி தொலைதூரக் கல்வியில் படித்தவர்களை ஆசிரியர்களாக நியமிக்கும் நடைமுறைகளை தமிழக அரசு 3 மாதங்களில் மறுஆய்வு செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று உத்தரவிட்டார்.

Subramanian came up for hearing today before the session.

  At that time, Tamil Nadu government lawyer said, 'Teacher Nitya, B.Ed. After studying in Tamil, B.A. Though studying English, also, B.A. He mentioned that she cannot be promoted in the English teacher category because she has studied the course through distance education. Accepting this, the judges said that teacher Nithya can apply for promotion in the Tamil teacher category and mentioned that the court has been insisting that only those who have attended educational institutions should be appointed as teachers.

  Mentioning that those who have studied in distance education are not eligible for teaching, the judge said that qualified people should be appointed for teaching even if they are appointed under reservation and it is painful that people who have studied in distance education are currently in teaching. Apart from that, he ordered that the Tamil Nadu government should review the procedures for appointing distance education students as teachers within 3 months.
